MAKING MOVES
After Jennifer Aniston garnered comparisons to SJP for purportedly snapping up downtown properties earlier this week, Alec Baldwin has also made some recent real estate moves that have locals buzzing. According to the New York Times’ City Room blog, “Alec Baldwin has seemed to take a certain pride in being an Upper West Sider, describing the neighborhood as ‘more middle class’ and ‘more real’ than some of the city’s other wealthy enclaves.” However, now it seems, Baldwin is shifting neighborhoods: “He recently closed on a penthouse apartment at the Devonshire House at 28 East 10th Street, just off University Place.” The renovated luxury building was designed in 1929 by Emery Roth, and Baldwin’s expansive new home is “made up of six apartments combined to create a sprawling four-bedroom, 4,137-square-foot space spread out over the top two floors.” Is Baldwin trading UWS pride for downtown cool? All we have to say is welcome to the neighborhood—and when’s the housewarming?
