DANS-ING IN THE DARK
Are you sick of watching your dinner companion spend most of the meal texting away? Do you also have fond memories of the Great Blackout of 2003? Well, here is the new spot for you: “After over two years of waiting and a few false starts Dans Le Noir, the dark dining concept, will open up its first New York venue in November,” reports Eater.com. Located in the Fashion District, “this is the restaurant wherein diners will eat in complete darkness (after checking their phones at the door) and will be served by blind waiters.” The black-out-style dining concept started in Paris and then opened a location in London, now New York. Diners will be kept somewhat “in the dark” until after the meal when they are shown photos of the food they just consumed. Not enough of a gimmick for you? There’s also a gospel brunch on Sundays. The Chromeo lyric, “Don’t turn the lights on cos tonight I wanna see you in the dark,” just became especially au courant.
