HEART HAITI
NY hearted Haiti last week at the “Fashion for Haiti: One Million Hearts” event: This collab between Urban Zen, the CFDA, and eBay brought out “almost 150 CFDA members, including Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein, and Nicole Miller to personalize papier mâché hearts from Haiti locals, which were on display and will be auctioned on eBay from April 22 to May 2,” reported WWD.com. Said Donna Karan, “I was blown away by the creativity. Each one is so unique. The only way I can call it is a couture collection.” The hearts—including Donna Karan, DKNY, and Urban Zen ones—will benefit Haitian artisans and relief efforts.

HAPPY SPRING
The clocks have sprung forward and the flowers will be popping up soon in the parks (and through the proverbial cracks in the sidewalks). Celebrate the vernal equinox with a major closet cleanup to make way for some new spring 2013 fashion finds. This season you have a lot of fresh trends to look forward to—especially from DKNY—from rolled-down chambray jumpsuits to silk button-ups to coated-cotton blazers and distressed denim Bermuda shorts. Not to mention, one especially great, long yellow windbreaker designed to keep up with even the most rainy spring days: Throw it on and you’re set.
FASHION 2.0
The most fashion-forward social media event of the year, the Fashion 2.0 Awards started four years ago by Style Coalition and hosted by Robert Verdi brought out some of the biggest personalities in the industry. Women leading the way was a big theme for the evening with our own DKNY PR Girl winning the best Twitter for the fourth year in row. Speaking at the opening, Style Coalition’s founder Yuli Ziv said, “It always amazes me how this online fashion community is so tight.” Congrats to all—and here’s to keeping the Internet stylish!

Inspired by R29’s sister cities, N.Y., L.A., D.C., MIA, and London, the collection features a backpack, box clutch, mini cross-body, standard cross-body, and clutch. Whether you’re in an ambitious Empire State of mind or feeling like a Miami party girl, match the city to your lifestyle and mood. After all, city chic is all about the right attitude. LOOKING LIKE THE ONLY GIRL IN THE WORLD
Talk about jet-setting in style: Take notes from Rihanna on looking chic and relaxed on the go. “The 25-year-old pop star looked super-cosy in a white hooded jumpsuit as she strutted through the LAX terminal Sunday on her way to London,” reported the U.K.’s Daily Mail. Rihanna showed up to airport in a Spring ’91 reissue from the recent Opening Ceremony x DKNY collab paired with some sheer-toed black bookies, lots of sparkly jewelry, and a side braid. Diamonds and a jumpsuit are a girl’s BFF on the road—especially when you’re about to kick off the Diamonds World Tour.
