MAGIC CHORDS
Dressed as a pilgrim in her recent Rick Alverson-directed video for “Magic Chords,” Sharon van Etten looks ready for an avant-garde Thanksgiving. The Jersey girl-turned-Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter hits the stage at Town Hall tonight with some musical friends, including Thurston Moore, Aaron Dessner, Jenn Wasner from Wye Oak, and Peter Silberman from Antlers. Says Flavorpill.com, “Van Etten’s ascension to indie-folk-rock goddess reached a new level when she teamed with Aaron Dessner of the National, signed to Bon Iver’s label Jagjaguwar, and released ‘Tramp,’ her sullen, rich, and evocative third album.”
