DOWN ON THE BOWERY
It isn’t likely that Guy Fieri and his “Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives”
crew will be showing up at The Bowery Diner anytime soon—and, in this
case, that’s a good thing. Mathieu Palombino’s long delayed, yet hotly
anticipated haute diner opened this past weekend next to the New
Museum (which was perfect timing for museumgoers who gave up on the
labyrinthine line to experience the final days of the Carsten Höller
slide). Inside the retro-fitted interiors, you’ll find all the
nostalgic fixings to feel like a teenage dream again (curly fries,
chocolate malts, and Reuben sandwiches), as well as options to please
your older, more mature palate like duck confit and whitefish melts.
Cool points for a late-night menu until 2 a.m. on weekend nights!
