AN APARTMENT WITH A VIEW
“Parkview” is to New York real estate what “oceanfront” is to a luxe Caribbean resort, both highly sought-after and a great reward. For her coffee-table book, “Windows on Central Park,” photographer Betsy Pinover Schiff ventured into “more than 100 apartments, offices, and hotels, including the Mayflower, at Central Park West and 61st Street, before it was torn down,” reports the New York Times’ City Room blog. To capture the park from all vantages, including its famous landmarks, such as Sheep Meadow, she worked the angles calling on friends and connections for leads on spectacular overlooks. Her search eventually gained her entrance into the homes of several well-known residents, such as Candice Bergen, Paul Goldberger, and even Donald Trump, among other CP dwellers. Ever wonder how you would feel looking out over Central Park each morning? Each spectator shares their thoughts and feelings on what they see from their windows. Talk about apartments with views.
